I have done for the conversation was that my group peers had to discuss about the four questions. We discussed about this while we had to chat. We talked about how power affects relationships and how can it “destroy” relationships. We were also talking about how power can also affect decisions of people. We discussed most of this and we got answers that depended on our decision. So my group: Andy, Kelsey, Brianna, Eddie, and I had the answers about Power and Relationships. That’s what we all had.
I choose the word survival for chapters 5-6 because Johnny and Ponyboy have to escape from a “crime” that Johnny had killed one of the Socs. They had to go someplace that Ponyboy’s brothers wouldn’t find out. They both, Ponyboy and Johnny, had to go to a place far away from the city they lived at. Johnny had to get the supplies they had to use because in order to survive. I also choose this word was because of the ways that Johnny and Ponyboy had to take care of themselves, do what they have to do, and rely on each other. Survival was the keyword for me for both chapters because they had gone out there by themselves and risking their lives to be safe. So that is why I choose the word survival.
~*~T3NS3~*~
I choose the word tense. These two chapters have very tense scenes. These scenes were killing one of the Socs. Johnny killed one of them and I think of the scene as a really tense scene. Ponyboy was getting drowned by the Socs. So Johnny killed one of the Socs. I thought of this word because the scenes were very risky. So when I thought of this word, I thought of the scenes when Johnny kills one of the Socs. I thought this word for both of Chap. 3-4 because it can be really risky to be a greaser. So this word might go with both of these chapters. So that’s why I choose tense.

1. Identify situations in personal r
elationships that reflect power struggles. Some power struggles in personal relationships is when someone that has too much power can damage that relationship. For an example, if that person that has too much power gets more money than the one that has less, the one that has less will get angry and will want to separate from that one that is “richer”.
Also when someone gets too bossy and starts to command the other person to do this, the person that gets commanded will get mad because the bossy one would never be like that.
2. Give examples of personal experiences of power struggle situations and what was the outcome?
Some personal experiences are that when my aunt visits my mom, to just visit, she always gets too bossy with my brothers and I. So the outcome was that I said to her that she was no one to boss me. If it is something urgent, I will do it.
3. When and how do you use power in your interactions with others. Where do you see or have seen power struggles occurring in your surroundings?
When I use my power with interactions with other is when I talk to them, or also when I have some type of relationship with them. The way I use power with those who I interact are telling them nice things that make them feel comfortable. I want them to feel special in a certain way. Where I see or have seen power struggles in my surroundings is when my community wants to make up rules for parking. I’ve seen those powers in my community. In my school I’ve seen the principal making up new rules which are okay. Also in my family, my dad makes up the rules for the whole house. So I see power everywhere. Especially when I am around with my younger brother. He sometimes makes me feel happy, mad, or sad. But I see that everyone has power.

Family :)- I choose this word because when Ponyboy gets attacked by the Socs, his brothers came to rescue him. Also the reason I choose I choose this was because of the ways Ponyboy’s two brothers cared for him. This shows that his two brothers, part of his family, care for him and will always protect him. Darry, the eldest of Ponyboy’s brothers, was always there to watch both of his younger brothers. , which were Ponyboy and Sodapop. Sodapop was in between the youngest and the eldest. He also took care of Ponyboy. So these three brothers watched after themselves. They are always in things together. So that was the reason why I choose family because of the way they watched each others back.
